Happy International Women's Day

Dear woman, It's your day today and here is a letter from me to you. Dear woman,  I admire your courage and your resilience. Your ability to keep on going for the great despite the numerous heartaches life sends your way. I see the many challenges life throws your way, from friends and family alike. The demeaning remarks though sometimes innocent and how they throw you off course. I see you trying to find yourself in a struggling world and how desperately you want to hold on to your own belief and stand by it. It is beautiful that you keep choosing the moral high road, it is beautiful that you embrace your fragility and use it to your good, that you see that even in your weakness, there is strength. The Bible in 1 Samuel 1 speaks of Hannah, a woman who went through so much ridicule due to her inability to give birth to a child and her despair, the bible tells us that she went to the temple and even there, faced ridicule from the priest but still stood her ground, she did not ...

Happy

Dear woman,  It's beautiful to see that you are not settling. I admire your quiet strength and your poise, I admire your determination and zeal. I admire your warmth, your ability to love despite it all, to give yourself. Your Heart is one I love. You are one who will not cower down when cornered, you speak truth and determine to rise despite it all. I love watching you speak of topics that interest you, the way your eyes light up is something else.  You are diligent and you never settle. It is a wonder that despite everything you have seen, despite the hurt and the pain, you are still standing.  You speak nothing but the truth, you tell of your pains with such courage and own up to your mistakes with such brokenness. You are a correct epitome of grace. I admire you, dear woman reading this now.  It's nice to see that you are not settling for les than and that you are continually developing yourself. It's nice to see that you know who you are.

Happy International women's day.

Dear woman, There was a time I wished I was a man for I was thrown in an environment where men were celebrated more and being a woman was not so encouraged. I gravitated towards guys more due to that, it was an unconscious act but one I did anyway. Later, I took note of this thing and decided no more, no more will I celebrate men more than I would women.  It's beautiful what you do, dear woman. It's beautiful that you take what life gives to you and stand despite it. Amidst the catcalls and the insults, amidst the segregation. Amidst it all, you do not let it stop you and keep going. It's amazing that you do not settle for less and use your strength to do good, women who would change different things and dare to be different. At times, women speak of the pain they go through every month-the menstrual cycle- and this is one that can be seen, blood... it shouldn't make sense that one is bleeding from the body but it happens because we have been given an amazing framework...

I do not want to go on

I feel stuck. This is a rut I want to get out of, I have all the beautiful words, It's to give you life. The process to giving a writeup or doing anything at all, to becoming anything is tiring. To think that I have it all planned out yet in the bid of making sure it is constructed well, I have not been able to put things down. I have visited my notebook time and time again and just stared at the pages. Visiting the book and just looking at it has left me with a great burden.  Thinking on this introspectively, I have done all that is required, made research even visited my book over and over again and though i have written some things down, nothing really gives off that feel, nothing really hits the way it should. It's not been easy trying over and over again yet not getting it, it's not been easy looking at my notebook and having nothing to write, it's not been easy being up by 4am hoping I would be able to write something yet I have to close the book in frustration, i...

A New Year Push

Happy New Year! 🎊 It's a new year and I am quite sure some of us have written our new year resolutions forgetting the one we wrote last year, 2021, that we could not accomplish. For some people, t hey are still working on their new year plans while some others have decided that New year resolutions are nothing and so they will not plan. A new year means different things to people. For me, a new year means starting a blog.. a new phase of taking my writing to an even larger audience, Jesus advised me to by the Holy Spirit. So, if anything, we have him to thank for this.  I am Omokhuwa, Omokhuwa is an Edo name and it means Child is wealth. I am basically telling you that I am wealth seeing as I am a Child. I am a writer, a student, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher, an influencer and Jesus's Bride amongst other things. Once again, It is  a new year and this new year will come with prophecies as with previous years, prophecies that if not built on, will remain only in a ...

2021 Year Review

An unexamined life is not worth living.                            ~ Socrates It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His [tender] compassions never fail.                         ~ Lamentations 3:22    I am Omokhuwa and as with many others, I have seen a lot this year, I believe I cried every month in 2021, now, as hard as this may be to believe, I was someone who didn't cry so much in recent years.  Wellll, in all my tears in 2021, I learnt a lot and going through my Journal lateron this month helped. I met amazing people this year! People who challenged me and helped with my growth in God, with Jesus. I saw Jesus and experienced a lot. I learnt a lot, I was exposed to a lot. I had to give up some things due to school. I wrote poetry this year.. not as much as 2020 though. I gained admission to a sc...
